In Loving Memory of

Gordon Hibbert Amos

Gordon Hibbert Amos, what a life well-lived,
A husband, a dad, a grandad, and great grandad,
A brother, an uncle, a friend to all,
Leaving memories that will never fade, nor fall.

Born on April Fool's Day in 1939,
Gordon brought joy to those who knew him,
Growing up with his siblings, Pamela, David, and Judith,
He learned the value of family, loyalty, and truth.

Gordon met Ann, his beloved wife,
Together they shared a beautiful life,
Raising their children, Billy, Elizabeth, and Lesley,
Teaching them love, kindness, and generosity.

As a grandad to Maria, Michael, Alicia, Lewis, and Max,
Gordon's love knew no bounds, no limits, no cracks,
He was always there to guide them with his wisdom,
To listen, to care, and to lend a hand or a shoulder to lean on.

And when Lily, Ella, and Liam came along,
Gordon became a great grandad, a title so strong,
His love continued to overflow, to shine, to inspire,
Leaving an indelible mark that will never retire.

Gordon lived a life that was full of purpose and meaning,
A life that was marked by his love and his leaning,
To be a beacon of hope, a source of light,
To those around him, day and night.

So today, we say farewell to Gordon Hibbert Amos,
A man who touched many lives, and now he goes,
Leaving behind a legacy that will never die,
And memories that will forever fly high.

Rest in peace, Gordon, your love will always remain,
In the hearts of those who knew you, and will always sustain,
The spirit of kindness, of generosity, and of love,
That you brought into this world, from the heavens above.

Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone, I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love
Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
My chains are gone, I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love
Amazing grace
My chains are gone, I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love
Amazing grace

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, who called me here below
Will be forever mine, will be forever mine
You are forever mine
